Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with mixed acuity levels, including Intermediate Care, Tele, and MedSurg. This role involves managing patients with cardiac conditions post-cath lab, post-cardiac/vascular surgeries, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with MI, NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF, and dysrhythmias.
• Manage post-cardiac cath, post-cardiac/vascular surgery, and other cardiac procedural recoveries.
• Conduct accurate cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage cardiac-related pharmacology.

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; must be a Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Experience with PCU level nursing, cardiac procedural recovery, and cardiac pharmacology.
