Unit Information

• Unit Name: D2
• Number of Beds: 20
• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6, depending on the level of care
• Services Provided: Inpatient overflow for mixed levels of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients; short stay patients targeted for this unit.
• Equipment: Telemetry monitoring available; all patients hardwired to bedside monitors as indicated.
• Electronic Medical Records: Cerner

Typical Procedures

Care for patients with various medical conditions requiring close monitoring and therapeutic interventions typical of progressive care settings.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Telemetry competency
  • Progressive care experience
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Preferred Experience: Recent experience in a progressive care unit is beneficial.

• Floating Requirements: Flexibility to float to other units as needed.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend commitment required.
• Dress Code: Navy and/ or white top with navy bottoms; all-white shoes.
