Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (Nursing)

Job Description

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in Intermediate Care. This role involves providing critical care to patients with complex health issues. You will work within a dynamic environment that focuses on neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory cases.

Unit Information

• Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Number of Beds: 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds
• Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction, CV stepdown, Post-operative cases
• Specialty Equipment: Temp pacer, Chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo
• Ventilator Support: Yes – Chronic vents, unable to wean (Respiratory Therapy support available)
• Patient Demographics: Adults aged 18 years and older

Shift Information

• Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Floating Required: Yes
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Qualifications

• Current and active New York Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit or Progressive Care Unit
• Documented travel experience
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC
