Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU

Unit Information

Location: 4W St. Mark’s, City: Salt Lake City, State: UT

• Staff Count: 45
• Staffing Structure:
  • Day Shift: 3-4 Registered Nurses (RNs), 1-2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Night Shift: 3-4 Registered Nurses (RNs), 1-2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Type of Equipment: Cardiac Monitors, Telemetry, IV Pumps, PCA and Epidural Pumps, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Bi-PAP Machines, Feeding Tubes
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): EPIC

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including but not limited to:

• Monitoring and assessment of patients
• Feeding tube placement and management
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Documentation and care plan updates using electronic medical records

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.

Required Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Essential Skills:

• Time management
• Critical thinking and decision-making abilities

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Familiarity with feeding tube placement and management

Work Environment

This position requires flexibility, including the ability to work weekends, with expectations to work every other weekend. There is no on-call requirement for this role.

Floating Areas

The RN may be required to float to Med/Surg and Intermediate Care Units (IMCU) as needed.
