Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide care for adult patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke needs. The role requires passing an open-book skills exam during orientation.

Responsibilities:

• Titrate drips such as Heparin, octreotide, insulin, and other IV medications.
• Float to Med/Surg, ICU, or ED as needed based on patient care requirements.
• Participate in a high flow unit environment with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Requirements:

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Adherence to fingernail policy: No artificial nails.
• A driver’s license must demonstrate a residence beyond the 50-mile radius rule.
