Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a similar specialty and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Schedule

This position requires availability from Monday to Friday, with shifts from 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Location

Based in a facility located in City, State.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Monitor vital signs and manage postoperative pain.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in the preparation and recovery from various surgical procedures, including but not limited to thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgeries.
• Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols within the PACU.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in a Post Anesthesia or similar specialty.
• Current certifications in AHA ACLS and BLS.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Experience using Cerner electronic health records.

Additional Information

The unit operates 24/7 and is subject to on-call duties during holidays. Employees are expected to work a minimum of two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve).
