Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU

Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide exceptional patient care. The position will involve pre-operative and post-operative responsibilities, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients transitioning through recovery.

Schedule

This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with an expectation to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with permanent staff.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Same Day Surgery
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratios:
  • Post-op: 2-3:1 (based on patient acuity)
  • Pre-op: 1-2:1
• Staffing: 1 Full-Time PCT available
• Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, Vein finder, EKG machine
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Float Policy: Float within Surgical Services as needed
• Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year pre-operative and post-operative experience is required.
• Certifications Required:
  • PALS
  • ACLS
  • BLS
• Skills: Competency in Pediatric and Neuro Post-Operative care to be completed upon onboarding.

Dress Code

The required uniform includes Ceil Blue scrub top and bottom.
