Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Position Description

The Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) will be scheduled according to facility policy, with a requirement to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with other staff members. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of preoperative and postoperative experience to be considered for this role.

• Unit Name: Same Day Surgery
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratios:
  • Post-op: 2-3:1 (based on patient acuity)
  • Pre-op: 1-2:1
• Unit Staffing Description: 1 Full Time Patient Care Technician (PCT)
• Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, Vein Finder, EKG machine
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

Shifts are scheduled from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM with potential on-call responsibilities. Floating within surgical services may be required based on facility policy.

Patient Experience Requirements

Adopt AIDET principles to enhance patient interactions and satisfaction.

Certifications Required

• PALS
• ACLS
• BLS

Dress Code

Required uniform consists of Ceil Blue scrub top and bottom.
