Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU

Unit Information

This position is located in the Adult PACU unit. The unit features:

• Number of Beds: 18 bays
• Number of Staff: 25
• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 11 Registered Nurses, 1 Patient Care Technician
  • Night Shift: 2 Registered Nurses (with plans to expand to 24/7 coverage)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for the first 30 minutes or ICU level of care; 2:1 when stable. Minimum of 2 Registered Nurses required at all times when a patient is present.
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech Magic

Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, your primary duties include:

• Providing high-quality care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Conducting assessments and monitoring patient status to ensure safe recovery.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
• Managing pain and other symptoms effectively.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a PACU setting with ICU level of care competency.
• Preferred Certifications: CPAN and TCAR.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.

Schedule Details

This position requires availability for the following schedule:

• Days: Sunday – Thursday
• Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
