Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Summary
A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. This role involves acting as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The position also includes assisting in the orientation of new personnel and participation in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to varying age groups and developmental stages.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
Experience
Previous experience in a specific nursing area is preferred.
Licensure & Certification
- Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
- CPR certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients according to established standards, including assessments of safety and educational needs.
- Participate in the establishment of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data, communicating this plan appropriately with all involved disciplines.
- Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified patient goals and intended outcomes, modifying the plan as necessary based on reassessment of the patient’s status.
- Complete all documentation according to established standards and utilize the appropriate documentation tools.
- Assess patient and significant others’ readiness to learn and implement individualized education plans according to identified needs.
- Actively participate in Department of Nursing or unit-based initiatives, including providing in-service opportunities and volunteering for committees or task forces.
- Deliver age-appropriate care for the specific population served as detailed by the organization.
- Perform all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
- Provide excellent service experience to all customers by consistently demonstrating the organization’s Standards of Performance every day.
Shift Requirements
Available shifts include 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, requiring weekend and holiday availability, along with floating between different units based on organizational needs.
