Job Summary
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in recovering adult patients following surgery in a high-acuity, high-volume setting within a level 1 trauma center. We prioritize teamwork, effective communication, and a positive attitude to provide optimal patient care.
Schedule
This position requires flexibility with rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as availability for holidays and weekends. On-call duties may also be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Recover post-operative adult patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and assess patients’ post-anesthesia conditions, reacting swiftly to any changes.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain high standards of communication with patients and their families.
- Document patient care and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in New York.
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, with PACU experience required.
- ICU experience is preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
