Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role requires prior nursing experience in the endoscopy unit, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and support throughout pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases.

Responsibilities

• Support patients in Pre-operative and PACU settings.
• Assist with various endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to Adult EGD, Colonoscopy, and Bronchoscopy.
• Ensure optimal patient safety and comfort while assisting with procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities related to endoscopy procedures and technologies.

Schedule

• Four 9-hour shifts scheduled between Monday to Friday.
• Pre-op shifts: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• PACU shifts: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
• Procedure shifts: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Rotation for overnight call shifts and weekend call shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have an active nursing license in North Carolina or a compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in endoscopy, with pediatric and pulmonary endoscopy experience being a plus.
• Experience as an endoscopy technician is preferred.

Unit Information

The endoscopy unit comprises:

• 8 Pre-op beds, 6 PACU beds, and 4 procedure rooms.
• A versatile staffing model that accommodates varying case volumes, typically ranging from 12 to 16 staff members.
• Equipped with advanced medical technologies including Olympus Scopes and ERBE systems.
