Job Description:

Caring for patients pre-op, phase I, and phase II recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit. PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology. Candidates require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications. Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Caring for patients pre-op, phase I, and phase II recovery.
• Utilizing equipment such as Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD’s, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience as a critical care RN in a hospital setting may be accepted as a substitute for PACU nurse experience.
• Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• Valid professional license within the state of practice.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended.
• Other specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific positions (i.e., NIHSS & TNCC).
