Job Description:

General Job duties: Caring of patients pre op, phase I and phase II recovery. PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and carrying for patients in Phase I. Candidates for PACU jobs require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications. Ideal candidates for post-anesthesia care units have natural abilities to think critically. Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD’s, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, Phillips Monitors.

Responsibilities:

• Caring of patients pre op, phase I and phase II recovery.
• Assisting with equipment such as Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, and others.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience as a critical care RN (i.e., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting.
• Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional license within the state of practice.
• Proof of flu vaccination or facility approved application for medical or religious exception required before contract start date.
