Cardiac RN First Assistant (RNFA)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our team. This role involves assisting in various cardiac procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and surgical outcomes.

Work Schedule

• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Primarily weekdays, with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM
• On-call responsibilities as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closure during surgical procedures.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures.
• Preferred experience in assisting DaVinci robotic surgeries.
• Preferred ability to scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases, including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall procedure), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), and heart failure interventions (e.g., Impella).
• Experience with heart transplant procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
• Telemetry experience is beneficial.
