Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for assessing patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs, collaborating with the multidisciplinary health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. The RN will provide explanations and instructions to patients or their responsible persons, use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition, contribute to a healthy workplace environment, fulfill core measure responsibilities, participate in continuing education, and maintain complete and accurate medical records.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individual care plan in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients/responsible persons.
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Contribute to a healthy workplace environment.
• Meet core measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Participate in continuing education.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.

Requirements:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• ACLS Certification.
