Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This role involves coordinating professional nursing and individualized, family-centered care to patients and families through the application of nursing processes and clinical skills, in adherence to established standards and hospital policies.

Schedule

• Part-time weekday nights (2 shifts per week, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• No weekends or on-call responsibilities
• Holiday rotation: 2 per year totaling 24 hours

Essential Functions

• Conduct individualized, age-specific assessments of patients and families according to established nursing practice standards.
• Perform admission assessments, including the collection and documentation of data related to individualized patient care.
• Demonstrate competency in assessing patients’ developmental, cognitive, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs.
• Identify nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, developing individualized care plans based on assessments.
• Implement and evaluate nursing actions in accordance with the patient/family plan of care, adapting to changes in patient condition.
• Oversee coordination and implementation of nursing and interdisciplinary plans, ensuring all needs are met through collaboration.
• Document patient evaluations, modifications, responses to therapy, and other care details accurately and timely within medical records.
• Provide and coordinate patient and family education tailored to identified needs, considering readiness to learn.
• Participate in scheduling procedures and facilitating patient flow within the department.
• Mentor student nurses and assist in supporting new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Current valid nursing license.
• Proven experience in a clinical nursing role.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
