Registered Nurse – Bone Marrow Transplant (RN BMT)

Unit Profile

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Bone Marrow Transplant unit.

General Information

Location: Dallas, TX

Unit Size: 40 beds total (20 beds on each floor)

Patient Ratios: Estimated 1:3; stretch 1:4 depending on staffing.

Staffing: Unit secretaries and patient care technicians available.

Equipment: Bedside monitors, bedside computers, lift assist devices.

Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements: Rotate weekends.

Floating Policy: Travelers float first.

Patient Experience Requirements: Conduct bedside shift reports, safety rounds, manage team ups.

Qualifications

• Oncology experience and chemotherapy certification required.
• Must possess current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) preferred.
• Ability to read telemetry and adjust simple titration of drips preferred.
• Strong assessment skills are essential.

Certifications Required

• ACLS certification
• ONS chemotherapy certification

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs.

This unit has received five-time accreditation by FACT and performs autologous and allogeneic transplants, including various donor types and CAR-T therapies.
