Registered Nurse (RN) – Heme/Outpatient Infusion

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity awaits to join a community-based oncology practice that is part of a nationally recognized cancer center. This small practice team comprises a physician, advanced practice provider, licensed practical nurse, ambulatory technician, and three registered nurses. The role involves handling hematology/oncology treatments, monoclonal therapies, and non-oncology referral infusions.

Schedule

This position is full-time, requiring availability Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There are no weekend or holiday responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a patient assignment typically consisting of up to 8 patients per infusion session, with a daily maximum of 24 patients.
• Provide chemotherapy teaching and patient education at chairside during infusions.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of recent infusion experience required; outpatient clinic experience is highly desired.
• Current ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification.
• Current BLS certification from AHA.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR and Alaris infusion pumps.
• Strong skills in IV/vascular access and port access.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the oncology care team.
• Current, unencumbered New York State RN licensure.
