Registered Nurse (RN)

General Information

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses for an outpatient clinic. The ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Oncology.

Patient Types

• Patients aged 18 and older
• Medical Oncology/Hematology
• Hematology
• BMT – pre-transplant and post-transplant

Responsibilities

• Averaging 15-25 patients per day, providing comprehensive care and support for cancer patients
• Managing clinic tasks, including rooming patients, vital signs, and medication reconciliation
• Processing infusion orders and obtaining necessary patient information
• Setting up for procedures and reviewing referrals
• Chaperoning for providers during exams and procedures

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Required Education

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a nursing board as well as Registered Nurse (RN) licensure from the respective state board.

Skills Required

• Experience with Epic Ambulatory software
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
• Previous clinic experience is essential

Support on the Unit

• Department leadership and charge nurses available for support
• Collaboration with a physician team consisting of 7 Medical Oncologists
• Assistance from chemo nurses for port access and blood draws

Orientation and Scheduling

• Orientation typically lasts 5 days, determined by skillset and comfort level
• No weekend shifts or major holidays; minor holiday work may be required
• Typical shifts are 4 days at 10 hours each, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
