Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Oncology

Position Overview

This position offers guaranteed hours and is scheduled to start on December 14th. The role is based in a 36-bed Medical-Surgery/Oncology unit in Independence, Missouri, with a patient ratio of 1:6.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Staffing Description: Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretary available
• Type of Equipment: I-med, I-mobile, Neurons (vital signs monitoring), Glucometer, PCA, Wound vac, Chest Tubes, Surgical Drains
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend

Patient Population

This unit serves Med-Surg, Oncology, and Hospice patients, as well as hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions.

Certifications

• BLS Certification

Typical Procedures Performed

• Wound Vac changes
• Drain Removal
• IV/PICC line placement
• Foley catheter insertion/removal
• NG tube insertion/removal

Floating Areas

Staff may float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed, primarily for Med-Surg level patients.

Dress Code

• Nurses: Pewter (gray) uniforms
• PCTs: Caribbean Blue uniforms

Work Schedule

• No on-call required
• Every third weekend required
