Job Description:

The RN in the Observation Unit will focus on ED decompression and enhanced throughput, receiving admitted patients from the ED, completing the Admission Assessment, Medication Reconciliation, and initiating acute care orders. The Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit aims to reduce overall length of stay and enhance the patient/family experience by caring for patients with a broad range of diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and admit patients from the ED
• Complete Admission Assessments and Medication Reconciliation
• Initiate acute care orders
• Promote safe and high-quality patient care

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Certifications Required
• Minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) level experience preferred
• Positive attitude and teamwork focus in a fast-paced, quick-turnover unit
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider appreciated
