Unit Information

Location: Denver, CO

• Unit Type: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Number of Beds: 24 licensed spots
• Number of Staff: 41
• Staffing Structure:
• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse with assignment, no nursing aids utilized, staffing based on acuity
• Night Shift: same as above
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:4
• Equipment: Level 3 neonatal care equipment, including oscillators, vents, bubble CPAP, central lines, ABG machine, pump feeds, and telemedicine
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile

We are seeking qualified candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital NICU RN experience
  • BLS & NRP certification
  • Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU
• Preferred Skills:
  • Prior Meditech experience
  • Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
  • PALS certification

Typical Procedures Performed

• Circumcisions, Pneumothorax taps, intubations, chest tube assistance
• Medication administration, blood transfusions, and arterial, heel, and venous blood draws
• Care transitions and attending high-risk deliveries
