Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a brand new service line that focuses on delivering exceptional care to our tiniest patients. The unit features state-of-the-art equipment and a collaborative team environment.

Unit Highlights

  • Unit Type: NICU
  • Number of Beds: 6
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 3:1
  • Staffing: Minimum of 2 NICU RNs per shift, with 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage

Shift Details

  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse for the NICU will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality and family-centered care to newborn patients.
  • Assisting with procedures such as line placements, circumcisions, and intubations.
  • Delivering stabilization care during delivery and for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation.
  • Utilizing advanced medical equipment, including GE bedside monitors, phototherapy lights, and feeding/medication pumps.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • Licensure: Active RN license (temporary licenses are not accepted)
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant hospital or specialty experience

Preferred Skills

Candidates with the following experience will be given priority:

  • Experience in caring for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation
  • Experience with central lines
  • Familiarity with developmental care

  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue
  • Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no nail polish, artificial nails, or gel nails
  • Hair: Must be neat and clean, with no extreme styles or colors; long hair should be pulled back
  • Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible
  • Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
  • Fragrance: No perfumes or lotions
