Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Mother Baby Unit. This unit plays a vital role in providing comprehensive care to new mothers and their infants.

Unit Information

• Location: Asheville, NC
• Floor: 5G
• Number of Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
• Staffing: Approximately 78 staff members, including nurses and support staff
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
• Type of Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
• EMR: Cerner

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns in a couplet care model.
• Administer medications and monitor patients’ response to therapies.
• Perform assessments and deliver care to patients experiencing various conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate new parents on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Mother Baby Unit or similar setting.
• Required Skills:
  • Mother Baby nursing experience
• Preferred Skills:
  • Travel nursing experience
  • Caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
  • STABLE certification
• Certifications: BLS and NRP required.
