Registered Nurse – MedSurg / Telemetry

Job Summary

The MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will be part of a fast-paced admission unit catering to general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting procedures. This is a dynamic environment where patient loads are rapidly admitted and discharged, thus requiring RNs to adapt quickly and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, including telemetry requirements.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Manage a patient ratio of 5:1 while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Document relevant patient information accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in MedSurg/Telemetry nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Comprehensive work history with no gaps greater than 60 days.
• Skills checklist, references, certification card, and Nursys license verification must be provided.

Work Environment

The position is located in a 10-bed unit dedicated to admissions, with a focus on both medical and surgical patients.
