Registered Nurse – MedSurg / Telemetry

Unit Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) within a 10-bed unit primarily focused on general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting procedures. This is a rapid admission unit, with patient turnover occurring more swiftly than in typical medical surgical units.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage patient admissions and oversee care for multiple patients efficiently.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in MedSurg/Telemetry nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication.
• Work history with no gaps exceeding 60 days.
• Skills checklist and references may be required.

Working Conditions

The patient-to-nurse ratio will be approximately 5:1, providing a fast-paced environment suitable for RNs who thrive in dynamic settings.
