Unit Profile

• Unit Name: 6A Med-Surg/Oncology
• Number of Beds: 31
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Unit secretaries available from 6 AM to 10 PM; technicians on all shifts.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends
• Floating Policy: May float to other Med-Surg and Tele units
• Experience Requirements: At least one year of acute care experience

Hiring Profile

• Requested Skill Set:
  • Excellent physical assessment and documentation skills
  • Experience caring for acute care stroke patients
  • Time management and well-developed critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of core measures and prevention of healthcare-associated conditions (HACs) and healthcare-associated infections (HAIs)
• Advanced Skills: Chemotherapy experience is a plus
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification

Dress Code

Ceil blue scrubs with white or ceil blue jacket if worn.
