Staffing Information

• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 unit secretary
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 unit secretary

Patient Ratios: 1:6 on day shift, 1:7 on night shift

Equipment and Technology

• Telemetry
• PCA
• Wound vacs
• Baxter IV pumps
• TPN
• Tube feeds
• Urinary catheters

EMR: Cerner

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for managing a patient load of 6-7, depending on the shift. Key responsibilities include:

• Telemetry monitoring
• Administering TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, Peg tubes, NG tubes
• Managing colostomies and urostomies
• Overseeing various drains, including biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, and CBI
• Administering heparin drips and IV antibiotics
• Assisting with various surgical procedures such as cholecystectomies, appendectomies, bowel resections, hysterectomies, and more

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Telemetry competency
• Experience in urology and bowel care

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds
• Knowledge of colostomies, urostomies, and managing complex drains

Certification Requirements

• BLS

Work Schedule

Expected to work 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling cycle.

Dress Code

Attire includes navy blue pants, navy blue or white scrub top, and jacket if needed. White undershirts may be worn, but sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, coats, or non-scrub jackets are not permitted.
