• Unit Name: 6 East Ortho/Trauma
• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5
• Unit Staffing Description: Unit Secretary and PCTs available
• Type of Equipment: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts, 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Floating Policy: Contract labor may float first to other MedSurg level of care units (General MS, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma)
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding

Qualifications

• Requested Skill Set:
• Must Have: RN license, BLS Certification
• Advanced Skills Needed: Ortho experience, Tele, NIH stroke scale familiarization
• Certifications Required: [Specify as needed]

Responsibilities

• Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
• Manage care for trauma patients and some neuro overflow cases

Dress Code

Navy scrubs are required.
