Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Med/Surg department, specializing in Transplant Nephrology. This role involves providing high-quality patient care for individuals undergoing kidney transplants and those requiring renal and dialysis services.

General Information

• Unit Name: 6W Transplant Nephrology
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Unit Staffing Description: Unit secretary available during the day, along with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and an educator.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 weekend shifts per month
• Floating Policy: Agency/Contract nurses float first

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in Med/Surg, nephrology, kidney transplants, renal, or dialysis
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients on the unit
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitoring and assessing patient conditions and responding appropriately
