Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Neuro

General Information

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical/Neuro unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts; Unit secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximeters, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

The position requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including 2 weekends (totaling 4 shifts) in a 4-week schedule.

Floating Policy

Contract labor staff will be the first to float, with subsequent floating determined by a rotation system when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled.

Patient Experience Requirements

The RN is expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to both patients and their family members. This includes conducting bedside shift reports and fostering personal connections with patients, as well as involving them and their families in the care plan.

Qualifications

• Must Have:
  • Active RN license
  • BLS certification
• Requested Skill Set: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitasking abilities, proficiency in starting IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
• Advanced Skills Needed: N/A

Dress Code

Required uniform includes navy scrubs for both tops and bottoms.
