Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts. This position offers the opportunity to work in both the Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (MedSurg) units. The RN will be expected to provide high-quality patient care, responding to whatever medical needs arise during their shifts.

Shift Details

• Shift: 6 PM to 6 AM
• Location: City, State (specific location withheld)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in both ER and MedSurg environments as needed.
• Assist in triaging patients and managing admissions effectively.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) system (Athena).

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kansas or multi-state license.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred; open to candidates with less than 3 years of experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience is a plus but not required.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (all AHA accredited).

Work Environment

The nurse-to-patient ratio generally remains around 1:3, with a maximum of 5:1. The team will typically consist of 2 nurses, 1 aid, and 1 staff secretary on the floor. Nursing support also includes LPNs and CNAs.

Additional Information

• No mileage restrictions are in place for this position.
• COVID-19 vaccination exemptions are accepted; flu vaccination is not required.
• Please be aware that the client may cancel one shift every 30 days during a 13-week assignment, which may affect guaranteed hours.
• If the client cancels a shift after the healthcare provider has started working, payment will be based on hours worked or a minimum of 2 hours, whichever is greater.
