Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our medical surgical unit, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions.

Unit Details

• Unit/Department: 6 North – General Medical Inpatient
• Bed Capacity: 32 beds
• Staffing Ratios: 1:6

Contract Information

• Contract Length: 26 weeks, with preference for longer contracts of 26-51 weeks. Shorter lengths will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, with 36 hours guaranteed per week.
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
• Orientation Dates: 10/05/2026, 10/19/2026, 11/02/2026, 11/16/2026, 11/30/2026.

Patient Care Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be expected to:

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Float to other post-surgical floors and medical-surgical inpatient areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: ADN or BSN required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care medical/surgical experience.
• Licensure: Kansas or Multistate RN license required. No violations or hits allowed.
• Certifications: AHA BLS certification must be active at the time of submission.

Compliance and Vaccination Requirements

• Documentation of immunity status for Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDaP, and Influenza (or approved exemption during flu season).
• Proof of TB documentation is required.
