Building: Tower A

General Information

The unit consists of 30 beds and is staffed according to patient census needs.

Staffing Overview

• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4-5 RNs (if unit census supports), 2 PCTs, 1 HUC, and 1-3 sitters.
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4-5 RNs (if unit census full), 2 PCTs, and 1-3 sitters depending on patient population.

Patient Ratios

6 patients per nurse.

• Hoyer lifts
• Sara Steady
• Bladder scanners

EMR System

Meditech

Floating Requirement

Staff may float as needed based on hospital requirements.

Typical Hiring Profile

Essential Skills

• BLS Certification
• Experience in Med Surge or acute care settings

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in Med Surge or acute care
• Previous experience in HCA environments

Typical Procedures Performed in the Unit

• Post-surgical care, including Cholecystectomy and Cystoscopy with stent placement
• Pain management and care for CIWA patients
