Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Position Description

This position requires the Registered Nurse (RN) to work in a Med/Surg unit. Please note that patient ratios are an estimation based on the unit and not guaranteed.

General Information

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 40
• Patient Ratios: 1:7
• Unit Staffing: 1 clinical nurse coordinator, 7 nurses, 4 PCTs, and 1 unit coordinator per shift
• Type of Equipment: Regular medical equipment for Med/Surg unit
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 36 hours per week with rotating weekends
• Floating Policy: Contract labor staff will float to like units first
• Patient Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year

Certification Requirements

• Mandatory: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing patient care in a Med/Surg setting. Procedures performed on the unit include EKGs, glucose monitoring, and venipuncture.

Dress Code

The required uniform consists of a royal blue top and bottom.
