Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a travel nursing opportunity in the Surgical Specialty Unit, starting on December 14. The role offers 48 hours guaranteed work per week.

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 20 private rooms
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 total patient care, 5:1 with a patient care tech
• Unit Staffing: Typically 4-5 nurses and 1 tech on the floor
• Type of Equipment:
  • Alaris IV Pumps
  • CADD epidural pumps
  • Alaris PCA
  • Pyxis Medication Dispensing System
  • Telemetry and EKG machines
  • Bladder scanners
  • Wound vacs
  • Capnostream machines
  • SCD Pumps
• Documentation System: Medi Tech

Scheduling Requirements

• Every third weekend
• Two Mondays and two Fridays per 4-week scheduling period

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive patient care, including but not limited to:

• Ostomy management and irrigation
• NGT placement and management
• Foley catheter placement and maintenance
• Central line management
• JP drain care
• Wound management
• IV starts and blood administration
• Nutritional supplementation including TPN and G/J tubes

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Med-surg experience is a must.
• Advanced Skills: Strong understanding of post-operative care is essential.
• Certifications Required: BLS certification is necessary.

Uniform Requirements

Royal blue tops with black or royal blue bottoms are required.
