Position Overview

This is a travel nursing opportunity in a 20-bed unit specializing in Transplant Nephrology, located in Kansas City, MO. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6, ensuring a supportive environment for both patients and nursing staff.

Unit Information

• Unit Name: 6W Transplant Nephrology
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Unit Staff: Includes unit secretary during the day and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).
• Type of Equipment: Standard medical equipment for nephrology and transplant care.

Scheduling Requirements

• Weekend Shifts: 3 shifts per month are required.
• On-Call Requirements: None.

Patient Care Focus

The unit provides Med/Surg care, with dialysis being performed off the unit. A virtual nurse is available to assist with patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to concentrate on patient care more effectively.

Qualifications

• Required Education: ADN degree.
• Certifications Required: BLS certification.
• Preferred Experience: Med/Surg, nephrology, kidney transplants, renal care, and dialysis.

Dress Code
