Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg unit will be responsible for providing comprehensive care for patients post-op, dealing with sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infection. The role requires Level 1 trauma experience and the ability to float to Tele. Must pass a dysrhythmia exam before signing the contract.

Responsibilities:

• Providing proficient medical care in a Med Surg unit.
• Floating to telemetry and other med/surg units as needed.
• Successfully completing Sims Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Managing patients with post-op conditions, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infections.
• Administering and titrating Heparin drips, managing RT equipment with assigned respiratory therapists, and adhering to sterile field protocols.

Requirements:

• Recent Med Surg experience and ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam.
• BLS Certification required.
• Preferred charge nurse and telemetry experience.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Ability to adhere to a 50-mile radius rule and pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation.
