Interim Director of Nursing (DON) – Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Nursing (DON) who is a Registered Nurse (RN) for a skilled nursing facility located in Eureka, KS. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to residents and supporting the nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage nursing staff and coordinate care for approximately 50 residents.
• Provide leadership and support to nursing staff, including training and development.
• Assist with medication administration as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure the best outcomes for residents.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• IV Certification preferred
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a team

Work Environment

This role is expected to be full-time with a commitment of 40 hours per week over a 6-week period, starting as soon as possible. The facility typically has a census of around 40 residents, with one nurse on duty during the night shift accompanied by 3-4 medication aides and 4 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) during peak hours.

Additional Information

Staff members are required to either receive the flu vaccine or wear a mask through March. There are limited lodging options in the area; Airbnb is recommended for accommodations.
