Job Summary
This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Long Term Care. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing facility environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as charge nurse, overseeing staff and patient care.
- Administer medications and perform wound care.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Participate in team discussions as required.

Type of Facility: Long Term Care
Number of Beds/Residents: 26 beds
Patient Care
Common diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:10 during the day and 1:19 at night.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Long Term Care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience with special care for diverse patient needs is preferred.
Work Environment
Shift Length: 12 hours
Scheduling: Standard scheduling includes no self-scheduling and no blocked schedules. Weekend work is required every other week, along with holiday shifts every other major holiday. There are no floating requirements within the unit.
Additional Information
The facility utilizes an electronic medical record (EMR) system called Matrix. There are no IVs or titratable drips on this unit, and no respiratory therapy staff are onsite 24/7. Pharmacy services are provided off-site.
The nurse will participate in orientation with 2-3 shifts specific to the unit to ensure a smooth transition into the position.
