Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with residents and care providers to foster a safe and therapeutic environment through the delivery of direct and indirect care.

Units Include

• 3 East: This 31-bed specialized unit focuses on residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia, tailoring care to meet their unique needs. Key components involve utilizing both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and understanding the challenging behaviors that can manifest in this population.
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: Located on the second floor, this 42-bed unit provides short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recovering from various conditions such as fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other temporary illnesses or injuries where rehabilitation is beneficial. Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
• 3 West: This 42-bed long-term care unit supports residents requiring extended placement in a home-like environment.

Job Requirements

• Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Licensure: Valid State of Maine or compact RN license required.
• Experience: 1-3 years of previous RN experience is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team of care providers.
  • Flexibility to cover shifts as needed, including floating to other units.

Additional Information

Candidates must be prepared to provide holiday coverage. An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in the areas of responsibility may be considered.
