Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

City/State: Rapid City, South Dakota

Shift: 12 Hour Variable

Contract Length: 12.7 weeks

Start Date: 08/10/2026

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery unit is responsible for providing care to pregnant patients, from high-risk to low-intervention laboring patients. The unit includes 10 Labor & Delivery beds, 4 OB ED/Triage beds, and 4 Antepartum rooms.

Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care for laboring patients, including antepartum, OB triage/ED, postpartum, and infants.
Circulate C-sections and provide C-section recovery care.
Start IVs, perform cervical checks and phlebotomy, and administer medications such as magnesium sulfate and insulin.
Manage high acuity labor patients, including preeclampsia and preterm labor and delivery.

Requirements:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Current BLS and NRP certifications, ACLS preferred.
EPIC charting experience and Level 3 or higher Labor & Delivery experience required.
Experience in managing normal newborn nursery patients (Level I care) and preferably Level II nursery care.
