Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. This role acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, and collaborates with other healthcare team members. The staff nurse assists in the orientation of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees. The individual must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care based on age groups, developmental stage, and psycho-social maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, including evaluations of safety and educational needs.
  • Collaborate in the establishment of a comprehensive plan of care based on assessment data, communicating this plan as necessary with involved disciplines.
  • Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified patient goals and intended outcomes, modifying the care plan as needed based on patient reassessment.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with established standards, utilizing the appropriate documentation tools.
  • Assess the readiness of patients and significant others to learn, implementing individualized education plans as needed.
  • Actively participate in departmental initiatives, including providing in-service opportunities or serving as a project point for committees and task forces.
  • Provide age-appropriate care for specific populations served as described by the organization.
  • Perform all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
  • Deliver exceptional service experiences to all customers, consistently demonstrating organizational standards of performance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in OB, Postpartum, and/or Labor & Delivery.
  • Current certifications in BLS, NRP, and STABLE are required.
