Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, responsible for providing exceptional care to obstetric patients. You will be part of a highly engaged and motivated team dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care in a supportive environment.

Unit Information

  • Location: City, State
  • Number of Beds: 12 Labor Delivery Recovery (LDR) beds, 5 Ante Partum beds, 4 OB Emergency Department (OBED) beds, 3 Operating Room (OR) rooms
  • Staffing: 72 total staff including nursing, Certified Surgical Technologists (CST), and schedulers
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 and 1:1 based on transitions and acuity
  • Type of Equipment: Alaris Pumps, CADD epidural pumps
  • EMR: CPN and Meditech
  • Permanency: Permanent positions available on the unit

Typical Hiring Profile

Qualifications

  • Must-have Qualifications:
    • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
    • At least 2 years of experience in High Risk Obstetrics (OB)
    • Nurses with a minimum of 3 years of experience in High Risk OB
    • Current certification in Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)/AWHONN Intermediate EFM
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with High Risk OB including Massive Transfusion protocols
    • Familiarity with Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorders (PASD)

  • Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries (SVD)
  • Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
  • Dilation and Evacuation (D&E)
  • Twin deliveries with SVD and C-section
  • Scheduled and non-scheduled emergent Cesarean Hysterectomies
  • Massive Transfusions

Dress Code

Staff are required to wear sky blue scrubs.
