L&D Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced L&D Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery unit. This position requires strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

Shift Information

  • Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Every third holiday

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
  • Number of L&D Beds: 4
  • Number of Postpartum Beds: 6
  • Separate Triage Beds: Yes (1)
  • C-sections performed in the OR: Yes
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 during induction, 1:2 for postpartum
  • Common Diagnoses: Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Hyperbilirubinemia, Preterm Labor, Triage

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in L&D and Medsurg/Peds
  • ACLS, BLS Certification, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
  • Experience with critical access nursing preferred
  • Ability to titrate drips, including Pitocin and cardiac sedation drugs

Role Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
  • Monitor patient conditions and vital signs
  • Provide support and education to patients and families
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Assist with troubleshooting respiratory therapy equipment as needed

  • Expectations for communication, motivation, and approachability are essential for success on this unit
  • Unit specifics may vary; flexibility in floating between Medsurg and Peds may be required based on patient volume
  • One shift of unit-specific orientation is provided
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: No specific dress code; scrubs of any color allowed
