Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in obstetrics and provide comprehensive care throughout the labor and delivery process.

Job Details

• Unit: Labor & Delivery
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Unit Information

• Annual Births: Approximately 400 births per year
• Number of L&D Beds: 15 LDRP beds
• Number of Postpartum Beds: 15 LDRP beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 for general patients, 1:1 for laboring patients
• Common Diagnoses: Obstetrics, postpartum, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, pregnancy with hypertension or diabetes
• Drip Management: RNs required to titrate drips, including Pitocin, Mag, and Procardia
• Charge Nurse: Yes, with an assignment
• Orientation: 1 week of classroom training followed by 2-3 shifts on the floor

Additional Notes

• The unit is recognized for high patient experience scores and is designated as Breastfeeding Friendly.
• Every other weekend working requirement and potential holiday shifts as needed.
• No floating unless critical staffing issues arise.
• Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas.
• RTO (Request Time Off) must be provided upfront, with limited additional RTO approval.

This position is available in a facility located in a progressive city in the United States.
