Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing. This role involves providing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and for immediate newborn care.

Unit Highlights

• Number of Beds: 4 Labor and Delivery Rooms
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for patient in labor and 2:1 for postpartum
• Documentation System: Meditech / CPN
• Floating Policy: No floating.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: Rotating weekends; every other weekend required.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Expertise in recovery and immediate newborn care, including golden hour baby care.
• Experience in PACU for Cesarean sections.
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN.
• Ability to scrub in for Cesarean sections and circulate during procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech documentation system.

Patient Experience

Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to patient experience through the use of AIDET and bedside shift reports.

Dress Code

The following dress code requirements must be adhered to:

• Scrub color will be provided by the facility.
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails are required.
• Hair: Must be neat, clean, and avoid extreme styles or colors.
• Beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; non-coverable body art will be addressed individually.
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
