Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery is responsible for providing care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns, including assessment and interventions. The nurse should possess skills in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and neonatal assessment, and hold the required certifications to manage Level 2A Nursery cares for sick infants.

Responsibilities:

Provide care for laboring patients with a 1:2 ratio.
Manage care for couplets with a 1:3-4 ratio.

Requirements:

BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
EFM interpretation and intervention, and proficiency in adult and neonatal assessment skills.
