Job Description:

A Registered Nurse (RN) for the Family Birthing Center, able to independently assess and evaluate the health status of both labor and neonate patients using objective and subjective data and identifying health care problems. Collaborates with the patient, family, providers, and healthcare team to establish realistic and measurable goals, ensuring safe and effective care throughout the episode.

Responsibilities:

• Directly provides patient care and monitors the patient’s response to labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.
• Promotes wellness for mother during and after delivery through education.
• Provides education to mother about infant care.
• Documents all events and education in the patient medical record.
• Communicates patient’s condition to the physician and nursing supervisor.
• Collaborates with nursery nurse in care of mother/baby couplet.
• Assists physicians with procedures.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all patients in the unit.

Requirements:

• Two years of experience required.
• Maintain an active RN license in Colorado.
• BLS & NRP required, PALS preferred.
• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited nursing program.
